Guidance Counselling

FDMSE provides guidance and counseling to parents of children with hearing impairment and children with hearing impairment. Counseling and guidance is provided by trained skilled professionals to help individuals with hearing impairment to discover and develop their educational, vocational and psychological potentialities and thereby to achieve an optimal level of personal happiness and social adjustment.  The different kinds of counseling provided under this cell are as follows:
Child counseling: Children with hearing impairment face a lot of problems and challenges in special schools and inclusive set up today. There is peer pressure, the performance in academics is high and parents also look out for the all round development of the child. Hence child guidance and counseling is needed for enabling the children to cope up with all the challenges.
Parental counseling: Parents have a lot of expectations of their children, however once they are told about the disability of the child they are under a lot of tension and frustration which further cause undesirable treatment by the parents like overprotection, negligence, rejection etc which really need to be addressed. For this the faculty provides parental counseling to help them in fostering their children with hearing impairment.
Career counseling: Career counseling is intended to help the candidates to select a course of study as per their interest, aptitude, and strengths which can lead them to get into job or make them employable in an efficient way. A trained professional helps the candidates to get into the career that suited to their aptitude, personality, interest and skills.
